I've been in the design industry for 20 plus years. Over the course of my career, I've had to reinvent myself a couple of times, from animator to art director to design lead to developer to product designer.
I've had the privilege of working on many amazing projects with incredibly talented people, and with their help have walked away with accolades like a Gold Lion from Cannes and a top 6 finish in the art director rankings.
In the end, I've found that I like to create more than I like to present PowerPoints about what was created. I'm happiest in the mix, breaking down problems, fiddling with designs, and collaborating with developers to talk through and adjust output to be most optimal for the user.
My standards for design are high, but not as high as the respect I have for the people I work with. If you like making cool stuff and having fun doing it, we'll probably get along.
